Donate a Bike
Get that dusty old bike out of your basement/garage/storage and get it into the hands of someone who will use it! The operations of the Sibley Bike Depot rely on support through the donation of bicycles. Bicycles fuel our many community programs - including our youth Junior Mechanics classes, our Earn-a-Bike program, and our community bike donations - as well as our retail sales operation.
We accept donations during our normal hours of operation (any of the hours listed above).
The Sibley accepts all bike donations - no bike ever turned away! Decent condition bicycles are refurbished and put out on the road again, while older bikes are also accepted, stripped of usable parts, separated into recyclable materials and recycled.
With each bike donation, the Sibley asks for a $10 donation. Bicycles alone are not enough to support our operations. Why donate a bike and provide a $10 donation?
- Even good bikes require additional repairs and parts, and this is an additional expense.
- To maintain our operations we need to pay rent on our space, and this costs money, not bikes!
- People who are donating bikes usually have the means to make a small in-kind donation to help our organization.
