Cycles for Change Staff
We have a dedicated team of Cycles for Change staff in 2012. Individual responsibilities vary widely, but all exist to help make Cycles for Change the best organization it can be to serve our community as best as we possibly can.
John Kraning | Bike Library Mechanic
John has been a professional bike mechanic since 1971 and was employed by Twin Cities' bike businesses for over 19 years culminating in his own shop (The Pedal Inn). In 1991, John left full time bicycle work to fund raise for Clean Water Action which he continued until contracting Lyme's disease in 2009. While volunteering on the Cycles for Change Fundraising Team, John became aware of employment opportunities with the fledgling Community Partners Bike Library Program (CPBL) and applied. In March 2010, John was hired as the program's Lead Mechanic and really enjoys making a tangible difference in the lives of the CPBL patrons. Within the CPBL Program, John has served as the Lead Mechanic, Program Associate, Interim Co-Director and Workshop Designer/Teacher.
Claire Stoscheck | Bike Library Program Director
Claire is an organizer, cyclist, and activist who serves as the Program Director of the Community Partners Bike Library. Claire believes strongly in Cycles for Change ’s mission, and served on its Board of Directors in 2006-2007. Claire has worked extensively in bike advocacy in the United States and in Quito, Ecuador, with a particular focus on bike feminism and transportation justice. She holds a B.A. in Community Organizing for Sustainable Living from Macalester College.

Jason Tanzman | Outreach and Development Coordinator
Jason served on Cycles for Change 's board for three years before moving into a staff role in 2009. A Macalester College graduate in 2006, Jason has built noteworthy skills in community outreach, program development, grantwriting and fundraising, finance and budgeting, and more. Jason brings additional experience volunteering with bicycle nonprofits in Chicago, Mexico, and Guatemala.
Micah Thompson | Youth Coordinator
Micah is dedicated to teaching people and empowering them to use their own bicycles. A former board member who took a leave of absence to pursue the ethereal pleasures of the ivory towers, he is very excited to join Cycles for Change as an employee to dedicate all of his time to such a great project.
Marianne Baum | Community Partners Bike Library, Program & Administrative Associate
Marianne brings to Cycles for Change her years of community organizing experience with the Minnesota Public Interest Research Group (MPIRG), a student lobby group that works for social and environmental justice. She also brings her enthusiasm and experience as a teacher, a cyclist, a Grease Rag participant and a volunteer at Boneshaker Books, a radical and progressive nonprofit bookstore in Minneapolis. She enjoys her work for the Community Partners Bike Library because it combines social justice and cycling, her two greatest passions.
