***Sibley Bike Depot has a new 2011-2013 Strategic Plan!

Beginning in November 2010, Sibley Bike Depot engaged volunteers, community members, program participants, Board, and staff in developing a plan to guide the organization to continued success and greater sustainability.  Sibley's new Strategic Plan identified four key goals for the organization to focus on; these goals are:

***Welcome to new Board and Staff!

Sibley Bike Depot wants to warmly welcome some new faces to our dedicated Team of Board and staff members!  Claire Stoscheck was recently hired as Sibley's Bike Library Program Director; Claire has extensively coordinated bike programs in Minneapolis, Ithaca NY, and Quito Equador. Louis Haut-Prokop joined Sibley's Board of Directors in January; Louis is a dedicated bike commuter and staff member at Wellstone Action, where he helps support community organizing and organizer training.

Happy holidays and safe traveling to everybody this season! And to those hearty souls who braved the blizzard to help staff and volunteer at Sibley's Open Shop last Saturday amidst the wind and snow - we aspire to your dedication and ruggedness!

Thanks to everybody who made it out to our Bike Library Celebration at the end of August!  It was inspiring to see the turnout of Sibley volunteers, Bike Library participants, community members, and bike advocates from throughout the Twin Cities.  Councilmember Melvin Carter III inspired with his \"autobikeography;\" Tia Williams, Bike Library participant from Hope Community, shared her moving experience of getting on a bike after 15 years; and Joan Pasiuk from Bike Walk Twin Cities called this program \"masterful.\"  Read some local media cover

Women and Transgender Night at Sibley is riding with The Grease Rag from Sunrise Cyclery in Mpls to Sibley Bike Depot in Saint Paul. The ride starts at 6pm at Bryant and Lake.

Thanks for the support from everybody who has contributed their time and energy to helping make 2010 an exciting year at Sibley Bike Depot.  With the Summer in full swing, we can see that more people than ever are using our free Open Shop, attending our bike repair classes, purchasing affordable bikes from our sales floor, and checking out a bike from our new Community Partners Bike Library.

***Volunteer at the Urban Bicycle Festival this Saturday!

The Urban Bicycle Festival, this Saturday, is an event put on by Major Taylor Bike Club as part of the Rondo Days celebration.  The event \"celebrates the diversity of cycling in our community and offers an opportunity for engagement, sharing, and education.\"
